This photo is of the successful Oldham side of the 1950’s which will be branded into the memory of every Oldham rugby league supporter of a certain age. It is, of course, taken during the period when the team brought back to Watersheddings the 1956-57 Championship Trophy and won the Lancashire Cup on three successive occasions.

Exhibitions & More

The workings of the trust have indeed been varied. Besides recording and preserving the history of a great club exhibitions have been organised, films shown, streets names in honour of those who have served the club and commemorative blue plaques unveiled and more, much more.

Why not visit the renowned George Hotel in Huddersfield - the birthplace of rugby league – and venue to the excellent Rugby League Heritage Centre where there is a permanent display depicting the history of the Roughyeds? Sponsored by Gillette the centre plots the history of the sport and its personalities using plasma screens and state-of-the-art graphics punctuated by items that makes up a most magnificent memorabilia collection.
